TOBY: From Start to Submission
The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) Awards are the highest recognition in the commercial real estate industry for excellence in building operations and management. While the award carries prestige, many buildings never enter due to misconceptions about time, complexity, and competition.
This event is designed to change that.
Join us for a comprehensive, practical walkthrough of the TOBY process led by Peggy Sanchez, former TOBY Chair for BOMA International. Peggy will break down the process step by step, explain how entries are evaluated, and share what successful submissions have in common.
Attendees will review real examples from past TOBY submissions, learn how to approach the application strategically, and receive a clear calendar outlining what to do and when. You will also learn how to take advantage of scheduled office hours in the months ahead to ask questions and stay on track.
BOMA 360 certification will be discussed as part of the pathway for buildings that advance beyond the local level, but the focus of this event is TOBY.
This session is ideal for buildings considering their first TOBY submission, as well as those looking to strengthen a future entry.
Lunch will be provided.
